Nelitza is a 28-year-old female who suffers from PTSD, anxiety, and indigestion. Due to her various medical conditions, Nelitza reports that she felt as though she was “slowly deteriorating” and “didn’t feel like herself.” This was before she started taking CBD.
Since beginning her CBD regimen in June of 2017, Nelitza has a new outlook on life due to the tremendous impact it has had on her PTSD, anxiety, and indigestion. Nelitza reports that every day since taking CBD, she has felt like a 10, on a scale of 1 to 10. Due to the relief that CBD has given her, Nelitza says that “everybody should be consuming CBD.”
After Taking CBD
After taking CBD, Nelitza reports that her PTSD, anxiety, and indigestion have all improved. More specifically, her nerves are “much calmer.” Additionally, she has had fewer to nearly zero panic attacks since beginning her CBD routine in June. Lastly, her indigestion, which used to interrupt her sleep at night or keep her in bed for days, is no longer an issue.
Prior to taking CBD, Nelitza took prescription medication for her anxiety and indigestion. She became fed up when she felt like they weren’t helping to alleviate any of her symptoms. Now though, Nelitza is proud to say that she is “medicine free due to CBD.”
PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, is a mental health disorder that is considered an anxiety disorder. Nelitza experiences PTSD that manifests itself in common anxiety symptoms. Prior to taking CBD, Nelitza sought relief for her PTSD by turning to prescribed medication. After taking CBD, Nelitza no longer has panic attacks or generalized anxiety associated with her PTSD. She’s found so much success with CBD that she believes “everyone should be consuming CBD.”
Over 10% of people in the US have an anxiety disorder, and Nelitza is one of them. Prior to taking CBD, Nelitza didn’t feel like herself. This is common in those dealing with anxiety. CBD was able to provide Nelitza with relief from her anxiety which manifested in physical symptoms, disassociation, and worry. She says, “for almost 3 years I felt as though my health was slowly deteriorating and used to wake up thinking I don’t feel like myself, today I can say I ever since I have taking CBD I have not experienced that feeling again!”
Prior to taking CBD, Nelitza experienced dilapidating indigestion. She used to have to spend hours or even days in bed due to her indigestion. With CBD, the symptoms that are associated with indigestion, like bloating and cramps, have disappeared. Her indigestion used to affect her daily life, activities, and quality of life. The medication she was prescribed for her indigestion not only didn’t help to relieve her condition but actually increased her anxiety. CBD has lessened her symptoms of indigestion, giving Nelitza a new outlook on life.
Since beginning her CBD regimen 6 months ago, Nelitza has found that 30mg of CBD oil taken twice a day provides her will the relief she needs. Now, due to the success she’s had with CBD, Nelitza no longer uses pharmaceutical medication for her PTSD, anxiety, or indigestion.
Nelitza uses CBD oil orally, taking in twice a day in the morning and evening. While she finds this to be the most effective delivery method, Nelitza will use a CBD vape during the day if she experiences extra stress. In these two methods, she finds all of the relief she needs.
There are many studies establishing the beneficial impact that CBD can have on those who suffer from PTSD. Due to the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the brain, CBD is able to interact with a person’s brain chemistry, thereby providing relief to those who experience PTSD. Many other studies, like this one, suggest that CBD can inhibit inappropriate fear responses, which is common in individuals experiencing PTSD.
Many studies suggest that CBD has the ability to provide relief for those suffering from anxiety disorders. One study, conducted in 2011, demonstrated the ability of CBD to aid those in socially stressful, anxiety-provoking situations (this one being public speaking). According to another study, conducted by The Journal of Psychopharmacology, participants who suffered from Generalized Anxiety Disorder experienced a significant drop in anxiety when given CBD.
The human endocannabinoid system has an incredibly strong presence in the digestive tract. According to one study, CBD has the ability to aid in gastrointestinal movement, due to CBD ability to decrease inflammation throughout the digestive tract. Another study, conducted in 2013, reiterates the ability of CBD to alleviate intestinal discomfort, citing the prevalence of endocannabinoid receptor sites throughout the system.
