Linsey’s Story

About

Eliminate pain killers that make you feel better but leave you with undesirable side effects. Linsey, a 30 year old female, uses CBD products to find relief from chronic pain of Fibromyalgia and Sjögren’s Syndrome. After being diagnosed with both of these conditions, doctors prescribed various pain medications and muscle relaxers. While taking prescription medications her body became more dependant and eventually her body did not respond well to the medications anymore.

About two and a half years ago, Linsey made the switch to taking CBD products. While on prescription medications there were times where she was unable to function. These medications made her out of it which can make it difficult to complete daily tasks. Memory loss was also among the undesirable side effect that came with the consumption of prescription medications.

After Using CBD Products

Since switching to CBD, Linsey has seen a majority of pain decrease. In addition to relief of pain; anxiety, overall health and skin have all seen improvements. Diagnosed with both Fibromyalgia and Sjögren’s Syndrome; the combination of daily prescription medications began to take a toll on her body and how effective they became. Ultimately using CBD provides Linsey with relief of ailments that comes with her health conditions. The biggest difference in CBD and prescription medications is the ability to be able to properly function day after day, without harsh negative side effects. Prescription medications were effective but she soon became dependant. CBD doesn’t make her feel like she needs medications throughout the day. On some days when symptoms are worse, taking CBD will provide her extreme relief.

Pain

Using CBD on an everyday basis allows Linsey to no longer take pain medications that come with weird and nonfunctional side effects. Fibromyalgia is a widespread musculoskeletal pain that comes with fatigue, memory loss, mood swings and sleep. Whether you suffer from fibromyalgia that is hereditary, or something triggered this disease like an illness or physical and emotional trauma; the amount the brain signals pain is increased.

Anxiety

Living everyday with aches and pains takes a toll on your body not only physically but also emotionally. Since taking a daily regimen of CBD, the anxiety that came with Linsey’s pains has decreased. Everyone experiences anxiety different, what gives one anxiety may not give another individual that same anxiety. Although it is normal for people to feel anxious, it is not normal for this feeling to take over your life and prevent you from doing daily tasks. Anxiety is a brain illness that creates issues in the functioning brain circuits that regulate various emotions.

Skin

Two of the main symptoms that come with Sjogren’s Syndrome are dry eyes and dry mouth. With a daily dose of CBD Linsey noticed a significant difference in the dryness of her skin, mouth and eyes. Unlike pain medications, CBD doesn’t dry out the eyes and mouth as severely. This means less applications of eyes drops throughout the day and not having to worry about the next time you need to speak feeling like cotton is in your mouth.

Overall Health

“With Sjögren’s your immune system gets compromised a lot. Since using CBD regularly I don’t feel like I get sick as often”, said Linsey. The endocannabinoid system and various cannabinoids show to work out any imbalances within the immune system. CBD and other cannabinoids act as neuromodulators that protect the body’s systems to reach their optimal function.

Dose

Linsey has found that taking 500mg twice, daily gives beneficial results for her. At the beginning, she started really low to get an idea of how CBD worked for her and her conditions. She is currently thinking of switching to a higher daily dose of CBD. She is taller than 6 feet and weighs over 200 pounds therefore she believes that a higher dose might be necessary.

When it comes to dosing with CBD we are unable to provide exact dose. The person and their condition can determine how someone reacts to CBD. It is best to start out with a lower dose to begin with then decide if you need to increase or decrease the amount you are taking.

Delivery Method

Linsey prefers to consume with an edible but a tincture or drops work well for her as well. In addition to consumable CBD, Linsey also uses a CBD balm or topical to reduce the effects of dry skin.

There are so many delivery methods available on the market right now. It is important to find the best option for you. Various diseases and illnesses can cause methods of absorption to not be as effective as others.

Research

Fibromyalgia

With no cure to fibromyalgia, people who are diagnosed have limited options when it comes to finding relief. Many learn how to self-manage fibro by exercising and adjusting other healthy lifestyle habits. Fibromyalgia syndrome affects the muscles and soft tissue which results in chronic pain, tension, sleep problems, and fatigue.

For those who suffer from fibromyalgia and are unable to take prescription medications either because they do not work or they come with horrible side effects, CBD oil worked for Linsey.

Sjögren Syndrome

Sjögren Syndrome is an autoimmune disease that has an effect on the entire body. Main symptoms include dry eyes and mouth but more intense symptoms consist of chronic pain, fatigue and cause dysfunction to major organs and systems. Sjögren is considered an autoimmune disease because the immune system will, by mistake, attack healthy cells.

CBD and other cannabinoids act on various receptors within the endocannabinoid system to regulate how the body functions. Several clinical trials in multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and fibromyalgia suggest cannabis’ effectiveness as an immune-modulator. The use of CBD also helps to reduce chronic pain and
