We teamed up with holistic nutritionist Stephanie Rome from the Keenist to bring you a week of nutrition tips. CBD is amazing to keep healthy but keeping a good diet and eating healthy foods is essential to a healthy lifestyle as well.

T: Detox with CBD Detox Tea
After a night of ringing in the new year, detox the kidneys, liver, and lymphatic system with a CBD Detox Tea. Simply brew your favorite Detox Tea, we recommend a caffeine-free herbal tea made with organic and sustainably sourced herbs from the Keenist. Further, this Detox tea promotes cleansing of the digestive tract. How to brew: Boil 8-12 oz. of water and pour over Detox Tea. Let steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain if using loose leaf tea. Add a few drops of NANO Enhancer, stir and enjoy!

W: Inflammation fighting foods
One of most common uses of CBD is inflammation. In addition to a daily regime of CBD, fight Inflammation with these 10 foods…
Blueberries; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Include half a cup of blueberries in your diet several times a week, like in this delicious smoothie.
Ginger; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Add one teaspoon of dried ginger powder or one tablespoon of fresh ginger root to your meals a few times a week.
Cacao; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Eat a square of 85% dark chocolate a day (that’s right!) or, better yet, use raw cacao powder and cacao nibs for the antioxidant benefits without the sugar.
Turmeric; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Add ½ teaspoon of dried turmeric powder or ½ inch of the fresh root to your diet a few times a week.
Green tea; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Replace one of your daily coffees with green tea (coconut milk matcha latte, anyone?) or try cooled green tea as the liquid base of your smoothie.
Leafy greens; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Aim to get in two servings of raw or cooked leafy greens per day.
Cruciferous Veggies; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Include a serving of cruciferous veggies a day.
Wild caught fish; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Eat a 4-6 ounce serving of wild caught fatty fish 2-3 times a week.
Coconut oil; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Include at least 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or MCT oil to your diet each day.
Fermented foods; Anti-inflammatory prescription: Include at least one of these foods into your diet each day.

M: Gut/Digestive health; ginger tumeric juice w/ CBD
GINGER TURMERIC WATER KEFIR
3 cups raw coconut water (I used Harmless Harvest)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 Tablespoon peeled and freshly grated ginger root
1 Tablespoon peeled and freshly grated turmeric root OR 1 ½ teaspoons powdered turmeric
1 packet Body Ecology water kefir starter (I use this one)
Favorite CBD Product
Add the coconut water and orange juice to a saucepan and very gently heat to lukewarm, or about 90 degrees F.
Into a quart-sized mason jar, add the coconut water and orange juice mixture together with the contents of one foil packet of kefir starter.
Add ginger and turmeric.
Add CBD.
Stir to mix well. Put lid on mason jar.
Let this mixture ferment at room temperature (72-75 degrees F) for 24 hours.
Remove the lid and taste. For a tangier drink, let sit for another 12-24 hours.
When you’re happy with the flavor, stir again, put on the lid and place into the refrigerator.

Diet and the endocannabinoid system

The endocannabinoid system is essential to the regulation of biological processes. Specifically with diet, our ECS helps to control appetite, food intake, and energy balance. According to research, the ECS modulates rewarding properties with food by acting at specific mesolimbic areas in the brain. Providing your body with the proper nutrients can start with your appetite. If you don’t have an appetite or overeat, it can be a challenge to give your body what is necessary. Start regulating your appetite with CBD and nutrition.
