It’s December! That means it is Topical month over here at Infinite CBD. Dry skin can be a bummer. Right now in Colorado, it is winter which means dry skin all around. We’re sure we’re not the only location dealing with dry weather at the moment! That’s why we’re here to help. Let’s get Topical! In this week’s blog, we dive into how our handcrafted topical formulas. These recipes are curated with your skin’s needs in mind. What Topicals do we offer and How does CBD help to moisten skin? Let’s discuss it! Plus, do you know the difference between a Lotion, Salve, and Balm? We do! We will fill you in on all the details of our Topicals and how you can nourish your skin today.
CBD That’s Topical
A topical product is normally for external use. Miriam Webster says topical means, “Designed for or involving local application and action (as on the body).” Our topicals glide onto your skin, arms, legs, or wherever you find discomfort or dryness. Our CBD Topicals come in three distinct delivery methods including Lotions, Salves, and Balms. You’re probably most familiar with Lotions, though probably have used Balms and Salves throughout your life. All three Topicals help moisten dry skin by bringing moisture from the surrounding air. They all serve a similar purpose, however, they come in different delivery methods.
CBD Lotions
You’ve most likely used Lotion in your life, if not every day for some of us. According to Wikipedia, “Lotion is a low-viscosity topical preparation intended for application to the skin.” What is viscosity? Yeah, we didn’t know either! But apparently, it means “a fluid is a measure of its resistance to deformation at a given rate.” Which in layman’s terms means, the thickness of the substance. Our lotions will leave even the driest skin glistening in the cold and dry winter air. How do we do this? Our formula contains ingredients like Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, and Almond Oil. All of these work together to bring moisture to your skin. How does CBD help moisturize? Our skin absorbs those previously listed ingredients while the Endocannabinoid system reacts to CBD by helping our body ease discomfort and inflammation.
CBD Balms And Salves
Balms you may be familiar with when it comes to lip balm. Salves may be the Topical you are least familiar with but is also a helpful tool in combating irritated skin. We’d like to first mention that Balms and Salves are very similar to each other. They are both topicals and serve a similar purpose but have slightly different consistencies. A Balm is more solid than a salve due to its beeswax content. We have a slight difference in ingredients when it comes to these Topicals as well. Infinite CBD’s Balms contain CBD, MCT Oil, Manuka Honey, Vitamin E, and Lanolin. Our Salves contain CBD, Eucalyptus, Camphor, Peppermint Oil, and Menthol. Our Salves will definitely give you more of a cooling effect whereas our Balms help to give your skin neutral moisture.
